The Hangout at Gulf Shores
Beach
The Hangout is b-b-b-b-back !
The Hangout was the name of the facility in the same area back in the late
1950's and early 1960's here in Gulf Shores. This 17,000 sq.ft. new
entertainment complex on 2.5 acres has a restaurant that can seat 350 and has 3
outdoor outdoor bars, a 50 foot tower with a large movie screen and an outdoor
stage for entertainment in the outdoor lounge area.
It is great to be eating on the beach with the Gulf breezes coming into the
open-air dining room. Large, automated, roll-up roll-up garage door type windows
overlook the water, and all the seating is designed to give everyone a water
view..
A 25-foot steel fan in the center of the main restaurant building keeps the
interior air moving.
Memorabilia from earlier Hangout customers, photographs of past beach days, and
local artists' works adorn the walls. The outside patio and entertainment area
features plenty of sand, and picnic tables, plus a fire pit and a huge
playground.
The building's exterior has a beach look with cypress wood walls. The outdoor
decks feature bleached pine, and the parking is a mix of asphalt and crushed
shells.
The visitors to our beautiful Gulf Shores
Public Beach will really enjoy everything The Hangout has to offer. Easy entry
is up spacious ramps into the open interior with fabo views of the Gulf. Along
with areas like the bar for adults there are play areas for children.
