Things to Do

The beach is wonderful, but some days you may want to do something else. Maybe it is rainy, maybe you just want something different to do. Without going more than an hour away, there is plenty to do!

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is a favorite. Made famous by Animal Planet's "Little Zoo That Could" series, the zoo is a great way to spend an afternoon.

In the mood for some history? There is always Fort Morgan. You can also ride the Mobile Bay Ferry from there.

From the Ferry Landing on Dauphin Island it is a 5 minute walk to the Estuary and Sea Lab.

There is always Fishing and Golf if you are so inclined.

The nearby Tanger Outlet is a great place to go if you are bit by the shopping bug

If you want to go a little further inland, The Eastern Shore Centre in Malbis offers Dillards, Belks, and an array of specialty stores and boutiques. 

Cross the line into Pensacola and you have the Naval Air Station, home of the Blue Angels. View an air show or a practice session and visit the museum. Be sure to check the schedule for dates and times.

It never hurts to check for local area festivals and events, who knows what may be going on!
